peace of buddha

peace of buddha

Sometimes it’s hard to find the peace of buddha. Is it meditation that takes you there, or being there that helps it all make sense? Life can be full of challenges at times, and yet Ram Dass’s Be Here Now mantra is comforting. Be present with all of the emotions that come up and see what happens. I’m hoping I can find this peaceful state again soon…it has eluded me recently. Sometimes it is the moments when you are not expecting anything that allow peace to present itself unexpectedly. Be still and know.

Tomorrow is Friday…now that’s something to celebrate!

Sunflower in Sunny Puerto Rico

My friend Maria Suarez has been teaching raw foods in Puerto Rico for more than seven years now. One of her proudest accomplishments is creating the “Society for Roving Gardeners” to teach urban dwellers how to grow sprouts, fresh vegetables, and fruits on their patios, rooftops, and in their kitchens right in the city. Maria teaches classes in both Spanish and English. She’s appeared in newspaper articles, on the radio, and on TV. She’s made a tremendous impact in a country that loves fast food. She’s about to release a new book on sprouting. Stay tuned here for more information! www.organica3.com

Vegetable or woman Monday, Sep 15 2008

Omigosh the low tech wonder has started a blog. It took me awhile to begin and I am excited but have much to learn. Rawzine.com is the name of my URL but it has nothing on it so far. I heard that you can get people from foreign countries to put up a web page very inexpensively–just as long as they don’t ask me to deposit the money in a bank in NIgeria. I’m a raw food chef and consultant and have been to some exciting places in the world. Don’t have a bead on exactly what I will do with this blog. First I thought maybe news of raw food businesses and events, but since I also do a radio show called Women’s Voices on KZYX.org I thought rawzine could stand for radical artistic women, or relatively authentic women or random acts of wonder…don’t really know. It feels like a miracle that I was able to even start this post as I am a bit of a technophobe. I read the tech pages of the SF Chronicle, longingly wishing that I could jump in with both feet and learn quickly. Going to an audio producers conference in Chicago soon –Third Coast Radio in early October..so many things to learn. I guess this is enough for the first time out..now to add some pictures and textures and cool stuff.
